We are becoming the indisputable leader in experiential business education.
At the Orfalea College of Business, we tailor Cal Poly’s unique Learn by Doing approach to offer students a transformational, experiential business education.
By pairing curriculum with real-world, relevant work, we better prepare students to become career-ready problem solvers. We expect our graduates to become business leaders who will have a significant impact on society.
To achieve this goal, we will position ourselves at the forefront of business and technology trends, and supplement our polytechnic curriculum with cultural and social service experiences. With expanded facilities and high-quality faculty, we will find more ways to equip students with the technical and interpersonal skills necessary to change business for the better. We will guide them every step of the way with career mentorship, diverse and inclusive learning environments, and a multitude of industry connections.
Giving Priorities:
- We want to expand our transformational learning environments so our students will have access to the most up-to-date technology, giving them an edge in their studies. That includes modernizing current facilities, adding innovative learning spaces, and pursuing digital transformations in curricula.
- To bolster student success, we want to expand and consolidate physical spaces for our highly successful Student Services program, which has played a significant role in our impressive graduation rate (the best in the CSU). We also want to encourage more student diversity with increased scholarships and financial support for the Multicultural Business Program. To increase Learn by Doing opportunities, we want to expand our Summer Undergraduate Research Program, which pairs lower-level undergraduates with faculty mentors to perform research on real-world, relevant research.
- Support faculty research and fellowships, making thought leadership and expertise hallmarks of our faculty, which bolsters our reputation and makes our teaching stronger.
