We provide support for students to experience Learn by Doing and persist to graduation.
We have a responsibility to build the next generation of globally-minded and socially conscious leaders who are day-one ready for the workforce and contribute positively to their communities. Student Affairs accomplishes this by creating diverse out-of-classroom experiences that complement academic disciplines. Through Learn by Doing opportunities and student-centered programs, we empower students to explore their personal identities, values, skills and purpose during a period of tremendous personal and professional growth.
Giving Priorities
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Our goal is to create safe and inclusive spaces and services for students from all identities and backgrounds, offering campus resource centers which support and empower students and build a more just and equitable Cal Poly community.
- Leadership and Service: Student Affairs aims to offer opportunities for leadership cultivation, community engagement, career exploration and enrichment through service and volunteerism.
- Basic Needs: Through Cal Poly Cares Emergency grants and services such as the Food Pantry, we seek to ensure that all students have access to the resources needed to focus on education and success at Cal Poly.
- Health and Wellbeing Services: A primary focus in Student Affairs is ensuring each individual and our collective community are safe, healthy and thriving. Through Campus Health and Wellbeing, students can seek medical care, counseling services, substance addiction support and sexual assault education and support among many other services.
