What is Poly Gives?
Poly Gives is a three-day giving campaign where our amazing alumni, parents and friends donate to Cal Poly departments, colleges and programs of their choice. Poly Gives enables the success of Cal Poly and Learn by Doing now, and into the future.
When is Poly Gives happening?
This year, Poly Gives coincides with Open House and will take place from April 11–13, 2024.
I thought Poly Gives was one day of giving, what changed?
Again this year, Cal Poly will be hosting Poly Gives during Open House weekend in order to expand the impact the event will have on the Cal Poly community. In doing so, donors will get a glimpse into how their gifts support Learn by Doing.
Why should someone give during this event?
While any day is a great day to give back to students, Poly Gives is a particularly great time to make a gift because you have the autonomy to choose where you will make an impact. Additionally, Poly Gives is part of a larger movement on campus to cultivate a spirit of philanthropy among the greater Cal Poly community; during Poly Gives, students get involved and write personalized notes to each donor to express their gratitude for their gift.
What is the Donor Wall?
The Donor Wall displays the names of our generous donors who make a gift on Poly Gives. If donors prefer to give anonymously, they can select that preference when making a gift.
Where can I direct my gift?
We did our best to include various academic departments and campus programs that our students and alumni hold most dear. However, we want donors to decide where they make an impact, so if you can’t find the specific department or fund you’re looking for, please make your gift at giving.calpoly.edu. Your gift will still be included in the Poly Gives totals.
How can I spread the word about Poly Gives?
Is there a minimum online gift?
We gratefully accept any gift amount starting at $10 during Poly Gives.
Is my gift tax deductible?
Yes! Gifts to Cal Poly are deductible at the highest limits allowed for federal income or estate tax purposes.
